With the Deschutes River Levels off the charts, fishing has been as good as we have seen in years past. The high water has not effected the bug hatches or the need to feed by the trouts. So with the sun and some very determined fisherman (and amazing guides) our Deschutes fishing season has been outstanding. We have a few weeks left here in Eastern Oregon, then we head south for our Rogue Rafting Season.
Fall Rogue River Canyon Fishing:
We have been watching the Rogue Closely this year. Not only to monitor the the water levels and temps for our Rogue Rafter, but also watching for signs of what our fall season may bring for fishing. All signs are pointing to an unbelievable fall season.
Gold Ray After Damn RemovalLast summer we wrote on the Rogue River Outfitters blog about the removal of the Gold Ray Damn. This could point to an epic time for the Rogue River. Now three main stem dams Savage Rapids, Gold Hill and Gold Ray have been removed resulting in 157 miles of free flowing Rogue River. Also the Rogue River fish run cycles due to ocean conditions and river flow, we are now in an up cycle. This with the noted damn removals and a snow pack that we have not seen in decades could be setting the Rogue up for one of the best fall fishing seasons ever.
We begin our Fall Rogue River Canyon Fishing Season in September and run through November. If you have not experienced this trip or it has been a few years since you last saw the Rogue in Fall, we believe this year fall season is one you shouldn’t miss. Contact Tina today for available dates.
We only have 4 seats left for the Rogue River Rafting Wine Tour. These dates are July 20-22. The first nights menu is posted on our RRO-Rafting, Christine from Southern Oregon Wine Blog is now preparing the wine pairing’s for the trip.
PS. Dad and I have a new website visit RogueFishingGuides.com. It has been long in coming now we have joined together for the first time on-line.
*Proud to say we are now one of the last privately owned and owner operated Rogue River Outfitter.
