Here at Rogue River Outfitters we are more than aware of the “felt sole boot ban” topic here in Oregon. Almost a year ago we addressed the problem and wrote about the potential of legislation in a number of states. We also wrote about some of the possible solutions our favorite suppliers have come up with (check out the post). Now the Oregon House has just introduced Bill #2338: The Felt sole wading boot ban has arrived here in Oregon’s state legislature.
- SECTION 1. Section 2 of this 2011 Act is added to and made a part of ORS chapter 498.
- SECTION 2. A person may not offer for sale, sell or use felt-soled waders or felt-soled boots in this state.
- SECTION 3. Section 2 of this 2011 Act becomes operative on January 1, 2015.
Whether you agree or disagree with the legislation the change is in motion. With Alaska and Montana about to go “felt-less” and Oregon not far behind we think the debate is nearly over. Have you made the switch yet?
