The Deschutes dropped to 4200 cfs and the water temp. dropped to 53.6. With a low pressure moving in the fishing on this trip was definitely effected. Although still a great trip we did see a change in our numbers. We moved from mainly top water to a combinations of both, nimphing and dry.
They are calling for a little better weather going into the weekend. This may bring more of the bugs back out for more of the tremendous top water fishing we had experienced on the previous trips.
Still some of the best fishing we have seen on the Deschutes in years this early. Fishing the Deschutes is always a highlight of our year. It is a fishery that is always in change… Can and are you able to change with it quick enough is the question... 🙂
