When you have such a good season it’s sometimes hard to move on to the next one. Spring Chinook Salmon fishing has been one of those seasons. This year was predicted to be very, very good and all predictions have come true. I have been guiding full-time for 27 years and this has been one of my best spring salmon seasons. I had a great ending to a great season, my last four days were awesome! The weather, my guests and the fishing were all great! Tina and I fished the last day together her once a year fishing trip, and we went 5 for 5 with 4 keepers. A few bookings are already coming in for next year, I guess I am not the only one that was pleased with this good Springer season. I want to extend a sincere thank you to everyone who joined me this season not all days were great but the slow days were few and far between, again thank you all very much.
I have put all the salmon gear away and now we are moving on to the Deschutes Trout season. With the weather and water conditions Trout fishing should be wide open when we arrive on May 17th. For any last-minute anglers we still have two great stone fly dates available, June 9-11 and June 13-15. We can also run a trout fishing trip on the Grande Ronde June 13-15 that is also peak stone fly season for this river.
If you have not had the opportunity to fish or float the Grande Ronde give us a call. It is a Scenic River you will not soon forget, loaded with fish. Different from the Deschutes in the way that we can fish right from the boat… So the action is none stop, from one terrific hole to the next you will not be disappointed.
Give us Call, lets get you booked on the Deschutes or the Grande Ronde in the month of June. Stand by Redsides we are on our way! 🙂
Thanks Again for a great 2010 Salmon Season!
