One of Oregon’s most popular fisheries, Spring Chinook Salmon Fishing… The Salmon start to arrive early in March, although this year it seems they are arriving a bit early. March through April is when much of the fishing pressure is concentrated, on the Columbia and even on the Willamette near downtown Portland.
When Chinook Salmon fishing with us we like to spoil our guests. Our boat is covered and heated with plenty of room under cover. If you choose to keep warm or keep busy fishing out in the weather, we offer the best of both worlds. We troll with herring, spinners or plugs from the boat and sometimes even anchor fish. This is a fishery that Craig has been fishing for over 25 years and if there is Salmon in the Columbia or Willamette be assured he will find them…
Oregon’s Spring Chinook Salmon are definitely the best tasting Salmon in Oregon, and seem to be the brightest chrome color around. They average in size from 12 to 35 lbs, the Columbia and Willamette offer one of the largest Salmon, Steelhead runs on the west coast. So if you have ever wanted to fight with one of these beauties come on, let’s go fishing.
