The Salmon fly hatch appears to becoming to an end. I must say from the 14th of May up until now we experienced some of the best fishing on the Deschutes in 10 plus years. The Caddis hatch should be going strong when we return to the Deschutes later this month.
The crew and I are off to the Grande Ronde River to hit the same stone fly hatch. Both the weather and river levels are favorable for the Grande Ronde.
More good news…. Summer steelhead counts appear to be strong in all the Oregon rivers, this is good news for the Deschutes steelhead fishing and the Rogue River steelhead fishing.
